Drugs & TV - a bad Mix

I was thinking recently
On TV Show, especially soaps and in (most) films.
If someone starts 'doing drugs', then their life spirals out of control,
like in one episode they'll blaze a joint, then, they'll be addicted to heroin;
or, they'll start doing cocaine, and then start stealing money, and look like a state.

How come TV doesn't have some bloke, who goes out to a club on a Friday and does a line, then drops a couple of tabs, has a good time. Then goes to work the next Monday with no ill-effects?

Not that I'm condoning drug use or anything,
it's just that not everyone who smokes green or has a line of charlie is going to end up robbing old women 'looking for their next fix'

tv shows are a short amount of time- all in a 1 hour programme or so. But people do get addictedin a matter of weeks... ive seen it happen to people i know...

The point I was getting at, is that people in TV ALWAYS get addicted to drugs, and go into a downward spiral

but not everyone in the world who tries drugs from time to time, becomes a drug fiend

Yes, you're right, more often than not they do seem to be saying that's what'll happen to you if you try drugs but I suppose there isn't alot of drama showing someone just enjoying drugs and having a fairly normal life with them and programme makers probably wouldn't get away with it either.
