I didn't blog this in the end cause I just felt like it had no point and there's no ending. Here you go though, wrap your brain round THIS.

I've spent a fair part of my life wishing I'd been born into a different generation. For the most part I yearned to be a teenager in the early 90's. I think if I had to pick 10 years of the history of the world to save from the apocalypse it'd be 1985-1995.
I sort of have a theory that life goes in 10 year cycles instead of 7 and I was unfortunately born in the 5th year. So to be clear, it would have been better to be born 5 years before or after my birth. Why? It's complicated, save that for another time.
In the last couple of days though I've been thinking about when I was 14/15. It wasn't THAT bad a time. I used to really dislike school but now I look back on a some it with fond regard. I think joining Facebook in the last couple of months has had something to do with this. After resisting it's lure from so long, I joined and realized it wasn't actually that bad, and has got me back in contact (sort of) with school friends that really were friends.
Which brings me back to Y2K, well 1999-2000. That was our time! We didn't have a cool music scene, there was a lack of any real scenes to my knowledge which perhaps added to the times innocence. Napster had just come out! Yeah kids these days have all the social networking Junk, but we had Napster, that was cool! There was no Google, Yahoo! ruled and Anna Kournikova was it's queen.
Some other memories from that time include. Metallica suing Shaun Fanning for that Mission Impossible song being downloaded a lot. American Pie, Blink 182, Dido, Encarta 97 (few years earlier that one), watching the US top 20, Dr Dre's 2001, thinking Eminem was the bomb, people saying 'that's the bomb!' (only realy on Sister Sister) etc....
